Liquid Elastic Waterproofing Based on Bitumen and Rubber – BE 89

BE 89 is a liquid waterproofing membrane, based on rubber-modified bitumen, with 700% elasticity. After drying, it forms an impermeable membrane on the applied surface.

Application procedure

Surface preparation:

• Surfaces must be dry or slightly damp, clean, free of dust, oil, mud or impurities.

• Do not apply to basement walls with salt efflorescence or from the negative side.

• Holes, cracks and segregations should be repaired with ISONEM M 03, using ISONEM D 10 LATEX as a binder.

• Expansion joints should be sealed with ISONEM A4 (elastic mastic).

• As a primer, use ISONEM BE 89 diluted 1:1 with water (consumption: 200–300 g/m²).

• In terrace and roof applications, a rounded corner (R-3 cm) should be created where walls meet the parapet.

• It is recommended to use a 45 g/m² reinforcing mesh on terraces and roofs, but it is not necessary for basements.

Application method:

• The product is ready to use; stir thoroughly before application.

• Apply with a brush or roller, undiluted, in 2–3 coats.

• Coats should be applied in perpendicular directions, with a waiting time of at least 4 hours between them.

• Recommended thickness: 1 – 1.5 kg/m² (3 coats).

• In terrace and roof applications, it is recommended to use reinforcing mesh between coats.

• Do not apply in freezing weather or at very high temperatures (apply in the morning or evening).

• Ensure proper slope for water drainage and to avoid puddles.

IMPORTANT

• The surface must be protected from rain, water, mechanical loads, and shocks for 24 hours after application.
